Obama Summons Defiant Netanyahu to White House

With the Mideast peace process in tatters amid failed U.S. overtures, President Obama on Sunday summoned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House even as he again rebuffed a U.S. demand to halt housing construction in east Jerusalem. It remains unclear whether Netanyahu will see Obama on his previously-scheduled trip to Washington. Despite mounting Arab and Obama administration protests, Netanyahu again said he will not yield on the housing issues. "Our policy on Jerusalem is the same as all previous governments of Israel for the last 42 years, it has not changed," he said.
