MADRID -- Google says it is under investigation in Spain over its "Street View" mapping feature.
Google Spain spokeswoman Marisa Toro said Tuesday a Madrid judge has issued a subpoena for an Oct. 4 appearance by a Google representative.
Spain thus becomes the latest country to take on the Internet search giant over "Street View," which provides detailed photographs of neighborhoods taken by Google cameras.
Toro says Google will cooperate with Spanish authorities.
The company acknowledged in April that the technology used by its "Street View" cars had also recorded fragments of people's online activities broadcast over public Wi-Fi networks for the past four years. This is the focus of the Spanish probe.
