Italy’s prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, is prepared to go to court to testify that claims that he is impotent are false.
As part of a counter-attack against his increasingly vociferous critics at home and abroad, Silvio Berlusconi is suing an Italian newspaper, L’Unita, for two million euros for libel after the paper ran articles claiming he suffered from erectile dysfunction and used Viagra.
Italy’s 72-year-old leader is fending off claims that he slept with a high-class escort at his mansion in Rome following a private party there last November, and questions over the nature of his friendship with an 18-year-old underwear model, Noemi Letizia.
