The campaign to succeed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has turned Iranian politics into a political theater with hundreds of candidates vying for the attention of the media, and voters. But with so many candidates in the mix, and with the election likely to end up as a competition between a handful of regime factions, the only real winner is likely to be the ayatollah, Ali Khamenei, and his band of top clerics.
