In an exclusive LIGNET interview, Otto Reich, former ambassador to Venezuela under President Ronald Reagan, said Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s newly named successor was significant not just because Chavez had never named a successor before, but because the choice was clearly made to ensure that Venezuela continues to serve as an economic lifeline to Cuba.
